Средний показатель раз использования денежной единицы за определенный период, приблизительно равный всей сумме денег, потраченных за этот период, деленной на величину денежной массы в обращении. Скорость обращения денег в кругообороте доходов (income velocity ofcirculation) показывает, сколько раз определенная единица денег составляет часть личного дохода в течение определенного периода. Она определяется отношением валового национального продукта (gross national product) к денежной массе в обращении. Понятие скорость обращения в сделках (transaction velocity of circulation) обозначает, сколько раз определенная денежная единица используется в передаче денег за определенный период, то есть отношение всей суммы денег, потраченных в процессе продажи товаров и услуг, к денежной массе в обращении.
